Water’s Edge Dermatology, a leading practice with 17 locations in South Florida, opens a new clinic in Vero Beach. The clinic marks Water’s Edge’s sixth location in the Treasure Coast region and was opened to meet patient demand for medical and cosmetic dermatology services in the area.
“Our team of physicians takes pride in our abilities to diagnose and treat the most complex and serious skin cases—from acne and psoriasis to lupus and skin cancer,” says Ted Schiff, M.D., a double-board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist and Water’s Edge Dermatology’s medical director. “Our Vero Beach patients were driving to our Fort Pierce or Sebastian clinics for treatments, so we are pleased to now offer our patients the convenience of being treated closer to home.”
Water’s Edge Dermatology’s other Treasure Coast clinics are located in Palm Bay, Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie West, with Palm Bay and Sebastian opening in 2011 due to increased demand in the region.
“The rate of skin cancer is rising exponentially in the United States,” said Dr. Schiff. “And for people living in sunny South Florida, it is critical to have regular skin cancer screenings. During Valentine’s Week, we encourage residents to make an appointment for themselves and their loved ones for a free skin cancer screening at our new Vero Beach clinic, during Water’s Edge Dermatology’s ‘Love Your Skin’ week, Feb. 11 – 15.”
Water’s Edge specializes in diagnosing and treating all forms of skin cancer—from the most serious cases of melanoma to the more common cases of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)—and offers Mohs surgery. Cure rates for BCC and SCC are an unparalleled 98 percent or higher with Mohs, significantly better than the rates for standard excision or any other accepted method, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
The new office is conveniently located within the Vero Beach medical district near the Indian River Medical Center and the Treasure Coast Rehab Hospital. The new address for the clinic in Vero Beach is 3745 11th Circle, Suite 107, and appointments can be made by calling 772-257-7373. Dr. Schiff will be the primary physician at the Vero Beach location.
“We are excited to expand our practice and be conveniently located in the heart of the Vero Beach medical district,” continues Dr. Schiff. “I look forward to partnering with family practice physicians in the area and collaborating to restore their patients’ confidence, beauty and good health.”
