- Ohmic thermolysis—A small needle is placed directly into the spider vein and heat energy is used to destroy the vein.
- Sclerotherapy—An injection of sclerosing solution directly into the spider vein, causing the vein to clot and close.
- Ambulatory phlebectomy—Drawing out the vein through small incisions.
- Endovenous radiofrequency or laser—A small probe is inserted to heat the inside of deep veins to close and seal them. This treatment may prevent formation of new spider veins.
