After a successful initial trial period, Water’s Edge Dermatology is excited to announce the permanent addition of Kybella injections to their wide range of cosmetic procedures.
Kybella injections are an FDA approved, non-surgical, injectable cosmetic treatment for excess fat. Launched in 2015, it is a very new product that aims to better serve patients who are reluctant to go under the knife for surgery or receive liposuction.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, Kybella is a treatment for adults who have moderate-to-severe fat below their chin — also known as submental fat. It is not recommended to treat any areas outside of the submental fat area.
The injection contains deoxycholic acid; when injected, it helps to dissolve fat cells in the neck and jaw area. The deoxycholic acid in Kybella is identical to the deoxycholic acid produced in the body, but it works to physically destroy the fat cells permanently.
Kybella was approved by the FDA on April 29, 2015, and Water’s Edge Dermatologist Bebe C. Pajo, M.D. was one of the first doctors in the country selected to receive training for this exciting new treatment. As one of the top dermatology practices in South Florida, Water’s Edge Dermatology was one of the first cosmetic dermatologist clinics in the country to offer these new injections, under the direction of Dr. Bebe Pajo.
Now, because they have seen such strong results, they have decided to permanently add Kybella to their cosmetic offerings as of January 2016. After conducting the first injections in late 2015, the dermatology practice has seen many patients achieve positive results in just one month.
Qualified patients are advised to sign up for two to four of these simple outpatient treatments. The treatments cost $600 per vial, which is within the range of similar treatments for reducing fat in the submental area, but without the risks or recovery times associated with surgery.
“We’re excited to bring this brand new treatment to more of our patients in the new year,” said Lewis Bergman, practice administrator at Water’s Edge Dermatology. “For men or anyone who’s reluctant to go under the knife, this is one of the only alternatives available for these patients.”
Since first introducing this new product, Water’s Edge Dermatology has seen a number of men express interest in the injections. The dermatology clinic has even started promoting Kybella with the new slogan, “Say bye-bye to your double chin!”
