About Dr. Forero

Julie Forero, DO, is passionate about sharing knowledge with her patients and is thrilled to be a part of Water’s Edge Dermatology with its history of commitment to patient education. While she strives to stay current with state-of-the-art and cutting-edge therapies in dermatology, she doesn’t neglect “old-school” basics — a solid history, a thorough skin screening, straightforward communication and cost-effective, proven treatments.

She earned a medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California. She completed an internship at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, a translational medical dermatology research fellowship at The Ohio State University Medical Center and a dermatology residency at Larkin Hospital in Miami, Fla. She earned her B.A. in Biology from Reed College in Portland, Ore., where she presented her senior thesis on the differential secretion of peptides.

Dr. Forero’s professional memberships include the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Forero has also worked as a sub-investigator for clinical trials testing new treatments in dermatology for FDA approval.

She is married with two daughters and enjoys jogging, yoga, fitness, nutrition, cooking, traveling, reading and learning about other cultures, and “growing in her walk with God.”
