Our plastic surgeons perform hand surgery for a number of conditions, including:
Carpal tunnel syndrome, in which the median nerve in the carpal tunnel of the wrist is compressed, causing tingling and sometimes numbness or weakness in the thumb and fingers. It’s typically caused by repetitive hand motions and wrist structure.
Dupuytren’s contracture, in which knots of tissue form under the skin creating a cord that pulls a finger or fingers into a bent position toward the palm. This typically affects the pinky and ring fingers, and it can get in the way of daily activities.
Trigger finger, when a finger (usually the ring finger or thumb) gets stuck in a bent position.
