Please join us in welcoming Dr. Felipe Birchal Collares to the Vein Center team. Dr. Collares comes to Water’s Edge from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, where he taught radiology since 2009. He is board-certified in vascular and interventional radiology and speaks fluent Portuguese.

Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Dr. Collares earned his MD at Federal University of Minas Gerais and completed his MS in radiology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Following two residencies in radiology in Brazil, Dr. Collares served as a research fellow and fellow in vascular/interventional radiology at BIDMC in Boston before joining the faculty in 2009 and serving as director of vascular ultrasound and the vein care program. He is the editor of “Varicose Veins: Practical Guides in Interventional Radiology” which was published in 2017.
