Double Chin Removal
Many people are unhappy with their double chin and want to see it gone, but don’t want to undergo surgery. If this sounds like you or someone you know, Kybella may be the solution for you! A double chin can be caused by aging, genetics or weight gain, although a person doesn’t have to be overweight to have a double chin. For many people, a double chin is often resistant to diet and exercise.
At Water’s Edge Dermatology, our providers use Kybella to destroy the fat cells under the chin to diminish a double chin, which improves your facial profile and makes you look younger and slimmer.
"I have just recently had the Kybella treatment. This was the best decision I have made in a long time. The women in my family all have double chins and the older we get the larger it gets. After Kybella, it is gone! I am so thankful to Tanya Sperber and her team for making this happen."
What is Kybella and how does it work?
Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable that targets a double chin. The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, which is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring molecule that breaks down fat in the body. Fat cells are destroyed by Kybella, and the cells are no longer able to store or accumulate fat.
What can I expect from Kybella treatment?
Depending on the amount of fat under your chin and your treatment goals, you may receive up to six treatments, with the sessions being spaced at least one month apart. Each session lasts 15-20 minutes. During each session, your Water’s Edge Dermatology provider administers injections directly under the chin to destroy the fat cells. Afterward, you may experience some swelling, bruising or numbness under your chin.
When will I see results and how long will they last?
Many patients start seeing results in two to four treatments. Because the fat cells are destroyed, your double chin will not return and you should not need any other treatments once completed.
