About Dr. Juan Zapata
Dr. Juan Zapata received his graduate medical degree from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellin, Colombia.
He settled in Chicago Where he joined Michael Reese Hospital for his preliminary internal medicine internship year, followed by a categorical Internal Medicine residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital on the same city.
Doctor Zapata’s primary focus has been vein disease, right after finishing his residency training. His extensive experience in this field earned him the necessary recognition to be accepted by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and became a diplomate of the organization.
The spectrum of vein disease is very wide, and Dr. Zapata’s main dedication is to patients who still have symptoms on their legs despite having had different treatment approaches or been misdiagnosed.
“Treating venous insufficiency has been rewarding to me by impacting the lives of many people who felt there was no hope for their leg problems.”
